Evolving Sig

Hm… something simple… We’ve seen one like it last year [link]
As for why something so similar is here again?

I like to see the evolution of my sig; It’s a personal project and preference that I have a new sig each year… This one is a little late… all of my early Jan images have the ’10 mark on them because this wasn’t finished Kind of embarrassing, but here it is finally! Well… it’s the one on the far right… The dragon


Year 2009:

This tribal design was drawn in early ’08 for a Tafe project… it was a lino cut that had to be of an animal that we figured most represented or meant something to us. The Okapi came to me first as it was the animal my main fursona is based on. As for why tribal? It was something I have never tried before and figured I would give it a whirl… and was rather surprised at the results. This image became my ’09 watermark as I started getting a little paranoid about my art and wanted a way to mark it… I’ve still had some stuff stolen though.


Year 2010:

I named the year of 2010 unofficial year of the Thrivian… because it had been ten years since ~callyfin and I had collaborated on the design of our alien species. If you want to be really technical… she came up with them… I just came up with the biological and scientific way of explaining their third hip. I also came up with the following sub breeds Rainforest, Ifvian, Dilothriva, Itoathriva, Mytithriva and Heliniate Thrivians. I also co-created the Jacorkian Thrivians with :devkitty—chan2005:. [For those interested the differences between the breeds can be found here [link] – I still haven’t moved it to dA]. So in short this tribal representation was of my personal Thrivian character Aquarelia (called Aqua for short). I kept the tribal idea going as it was simple and didn’t detract from the main image. There was also a coloured version of this It just didn’t work out on the art.


Year 2011:

It’s a DRAGON! Ok… I was a bit iffy about doing this one… I’ve done dragon designs for other people and I didn’t want people to think this was a free to use… THIS ONE IS MINE. To me; its by big old blue boy Nilzuth; and this is because I have been RPing him and his rider Az’uka for ten years this April. So this year my sig is a celebration of them.
